Every Clash of Clans Player needs to see the Southpark FREEmium isn't Free episode!

Seriously! If you play any kind of Clash of Clans, or Jungle Heat, Castle Clash type mobile games that offer premium items for sale to speed up processes like upgrades etc you need to watch this episode. It is hilarious and sad at the same time. It will make you think twice about making that next purchase of Gems or Diamonds or gold or whatever the premium sale item is that you need to pay cash for to accelerate your game play.

Ironically even this episode is no longer FREE. But if you already have a Hulu Plus subscription you can still watch it.

Town Hall 10 What's The Rush?

Okay! So here we will touch on the controversial subject of rushed bases.
players RUSHING their Town Hall is extremely common.

First We need to define exactly what is a Rushed Base? What do people mean when they yell at you in clan chat "Your Base is Rushed" ? Well for starters, have you ever seen a level 8 Town Hall player with only level 4 Walls? Or really low level archer and wizard towers? That would be considered a rushed base.

Players rush their Town Hall because they want to unlock more buildings and defense towers, or they want to progress faster in the game. Most people would say not to rush because there are huge costs to rushing. Bu as with everything in life there are both costs and benefits with upgrading your townhall too soon.

First, the downsides of rushing your Town Hall:
1. Match Cost Every time you upgrade your Town Hall, your Match Cost increases. The Match Cost is the cost of pressing the 'Next' button when finding a base to raid in Multiplayer. Imagine that you rushed your Town Hall to level 10. Each time you press that 'Next' button, you lose 1000 Gold. If you press it 100 times, you would lose 100k Gold! That would not be a problem for high level players, but for a rusher, it is extremely costly.

2. Loot Multiplier The higher your Town Hall level is, the lesser loot you get from bases that have a lower Town Hall level than yours. This problem is carried forward to the next step, which is, heavier competition.

3. Competition As you cannot get good loot from the lower leveled Town Hall bases, you have to get the loot from higher leveled bases, meaning that you have to increase your trophies. But then again, these high leveled players can demolish your rushed base and you have no way to get back at them because your troops are too low leveled to hardly destroy anything! This makes looting tougher.

What to actually do: Max out at least -Your Mortars, Wizard Towers, Archer Towers and Cannons. -Walls, Air Defenses and Hidden Teslas can be 1-2 levels away from the max upgrade. before upgrading your Town Hall.

That being Said I feel there are always advantages and disadvantages to everything in life. One must weigh the consequences of one's actions. For me it's simply too late I already upgraded my Town Hall to level 10 so telling me that my base is rushed isn't going to help me. And lets face it, everything will eventually catch up anyway. I mean really what am I going to do? Delete the account and start fresh with a new account after all my hard work? F-No! get out of here LOL. Walls can always be upgraded gradually, they don't do anything against all balloon, dragon, minions and hog rider raids, which all ignore walls anyway. They might as well be made of Marshmallow.

To Rush or Not To Rush That is the Question

DJ Emir's New Order Rushed Base Theory: Maxing out everything before upgrading your Town Hall  is normally the best to play, it sounds great but don't let people fool you into thinking it's the only way to play. I personally enjoy the game more playing it my own way with my own theories and my own personally designed bases. Maxing out towers and walls has it's own drawbacks

Drawbacks of Upgrading Walls and Towers In Lieu of Upgrading Town hall and gaining more walls and more defensive towers: For one there are many walls to constantly upgrade so it will take a considerable amount of time. Walls are generally only as strong as their weakest sections so even if you upgrade a bunch of them if you still have a few large areas of the wall in lower wall levels it still doesn't make much difference.

Upgrading One tower may make a little bit of difference but adding a tower and then upgrading that one to your other towers level is faster and stronger than just upgrading one tower. It is also a stronger defense if you ask me. A new tower can be upgraded several times quite quickly to at least a mid level 4 , 5 or 6 tower whereas upgrading a high level tower can take a huge amount of resources and a huge amount of time often a week or more.

For my own strategy I've actually gone with a different theory than that of most players.  In my theory rushing a base isn't as bad as most people make it out to be as long as you use smart base design. The way I see it an Extra Crossbow, an extra archer tower, Inferno Towers and extra walls etc... more than makes up for not having upgraded the other archer towers to the next level etc. And eventually you will upgrade those all as well.

It's a theory that has worked for me, My Base has for the most part either defended completely and held at 42% to 48% or has been barely hit for 1 star low loot and only 50-56%  It helped me get all the way to Master level before I decided to upgrade two towers at the same time which allowed a few more 1 stars to take my level back down to the upper edges of Crystal 1. People in global will always talk smack about how they could easily 3 star your base but the reality is it always looks easier than it actually is and quite often theses same people are weaker than the failed attackers that have not been able to break through so really what chance do these losers really have? None.

People often forget about hidden traps, size and level of clan castle, the extra defense towers infernos and xbows etc into how easy a base would be to attack. For instance I have a Tesla levels 5 and 6 ready to take out anyone even lucky enough to get close to the Town Hall. So looking at my base you don't know what level the traps are but you can bet they are high level enough to cause major problems for any would be attackers. I also have 3 layers of walls from every direction around my town hall and all my towers have good triangulation patterns to make it hard for attackers from almost any side. Most base designs don't have 3 layers of walls from every side they often have a few weak spots which make them easier to attack if you use good strategy and you get lucky enough to have your troops attack through the weaker areas.

Most people look at walls as a huge indicator of a rushed base, it is only the more experienced players that will look at a base as a whole, not just small individual parts. People often called my base rushed, It was at level 10 with several level 6 walls and several level 7 walls but who cares? A level 10 Town hall also gives me a 3rd XBow and two inferno towers which more than make up for the lower level walls and lower level wizard towers. Also a higher level town Hall has a heftier amount of hit points making it even harder to fully destroy before towers take down the attacking troops.

I made my decision that more towers and upgrading towers is more important to me than walls when I got raided by an entire army of hogs and later by an army of Balloons and Dragons which all ignored the walls anyway, The walls might as well have been made of paper mache since it didn't matter anyway. At that point extra Xbows, archer towers and traps makes a much bigger difference in defense than just an upgraded wall.

My personal preference for playing is to always max out my collectors as fast as possible so that future upgrades come faster, then upgrade towers and attack units to help me collect and protect my loot.

I mean if a Champion level guy was giving me advice or saying that my base looks easy to 3 star that is one thing but when the people making the most noise about how easy it would be to 3 star my base and they are all Gold 3, 2 or 1 with low level troops you just have to laugh hard.

The other argument for not rushing bases is that it will be hard for you to raid as the competition gets harder and the loot is reduced, but at the same time as your levels go up so does your bonus loot. At Crystal 1 your bonus loot for successful attacks is 65,000 and at Master level 3 it jumps up to 100,000 so that makes up for the lesser loot multiplier. And stronger competition means you will get more practice attacking stronger bases which means you will know how to attack stronger bases when it comes time to attack in clan wars. I tend to get about 780,000 Gold and Elixir and 3800 Dark Elixir in Clan War Bonus loot for every clan war we win because I tend to beat the higher level bases in each clan war that offer up 380,000 bonus loot each thanks to all my practice with harder bases in general. So there is always an upside to everything.

I also feel like if you horde a ton of loot waiting for certain upgrades you will often lose a ton of it to raids. So If I have the loot for a Town hall upgrade I feel it's better to use it for the TH upgrade than to let it fall into enemy hands.

This post is long enough as it is so I'll leave you with this... Just weigh the costs of Rushing and decide for yourself if you would rather be patient and try and max out everything first before upgrading townhall or if you just can't wait for that shiny new toy XBow etc... LOL Just know if you do decide to rush that people will always try and call you out in global chat. Especially if you are trying to recruit for your clan, they will try and use it as an excuse for why someone should join their clan instead LOL.

At this point my base is starting to catch up so I don;t get the U rushed comments quite as often. And as I always tell them, Who cares? it's not your base so why do you care so much? Play how you want to play and I'll play how I want.

And as you may have seen me say in the past:

Shaolin Clan Four Month Anniversary Coming Up

With our Clan's 4 Month Anniversary coming Up right before the New Year Our little Clan of Shaolin Clashers has finally started to mature into a solid Clan of winners. We just won a 5th Clan war and have had a few draws to break our long streak of past losses. We are also currently winning our second war in a row with a score of 72 to 34 with an average of 1.8 Stars and 86.0% destruction per attack. I also reached the Master level and stayed there for a few weeks before I decided to upgrade a few towers which allowed attackers to finally start breaking through my defenses due to the towers being inactive during the upgrade period. I am now Back in Crystal Level 1 with 2532 trophies. Close enough to push back up to Master but I just started an upgrade on my Archer Queen so defense is a little shaky without her, my 4th Wizard Tower and my 4th Air Defense.

If you want to Join Shaolin we are currently at 45 of the full 50 members, but a few people still haven't attacked in the clan war and We Kick People for not using their attacks (at least 1 but preferably both attacks) in the clan wars because it is not fair to the members that do attack. They sacrifice elixir and troops to try and help the clan win and get great clan war bonus loot and if we lose because a few members decide not to attack then they don;t get as much loot back in return.

On a side note: Bonus loot from clan wars is what helped me out with many upgrades in the past. Winning clan wars is a great way to quickly earn loot for upgrades especially if you upgrade your clan castle. Mine is currently level 4 which gives it a capacity of 25 Troops, 1,000,000 Gold & Elixir and 4000 Dark Elixir. In most clan wars I tend to attack the upper echelon of bases and normally hit 2 to 3 stars but occasionally only get 1 star. I try and save the lesser bases for the lesser members so that they don't end up with bases that are too strong for their troops to crush. I usually end up with a huge Clan War Bonus of about 780,000 Gold & Elixir and 3600 Dark Elixir.

My Archer Queen did a great job in my last clan war attack holding on just long enough to finish destroying the Town Hall of Random Viking Clan's Number 3 Base owned by % Sharpie 97 % . At level 8, she took the full brunt of a large bomb, a wizard tower, a mortar and a tesla before finally being taken out. She deserves a good pampering after her performance in the current war and so now that my 2 attacks are out of the way I am currently upgrading her to level 9 :) Sleep well my Queen!

The clan was started August 30th with a great selection of members we had 2 sabotages by Bad Co-Leaders that left the Clan crippled losing some really amazing people as they kicked out almost 30 members and a few came back others found new clans too quickly to invite back which later resulted in the clan losing a few wars as we tried to stabilize the roster with more great members. And while it has been a long road to full recovery we are finally starting to stabilize again with a great bunch of rag tag members that keep us laughing and make the game more enjoyable.

PS: here is a Picture of My December Base: Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!
I will talk about it in detail in the next few posts because there are many people that like it and many people that would love to call it rushed. See my response here in my next post :)

Join The Clan SHAOLIN on Android Clash of Clans

Join the Shaolin on Clash of Clans. Clan started August 30th 2014 by DJEmir of www.djemir.com
Look for me DJEMIR as the leader to make sure you are in the right clan.

My very first clan on Clash of Clans was Hakunamatata it was a good clan with good donations and generous members but it only had one leader who while kind and generous with donations would occasionally be MIA (missing in action) and only entered us into 2 Clan Wars. People would beg and beg over and over for a clan war, but he never would do it so people kept getting frustrated and left. I finally left the clan after a few months of no war. Had I known about the Co-Leader Position and ability to start wars I could have asked him for CO and perhaps helped manage the clan for him. But as it was I ended up looking for a new clan after a few months of loyal membership.

I searched for a good clan and looked at clan donation specs before I found Ghosts, a clan that had good donations and generous members. The clan also did well in the first few wars I was in we won over and over again each war. I was three starring most of the top clan war bases and gathered tons of Clan war loot from our victories which helped me to upgrade faster. I became the highest level member of the clan and a CO-Leader. As Co Leader I felt responsible for trying to make Ghosts the best clan it could be and really liked the Leader Raunak.

Unfortunately the clan had really low requirements for promotions, Elder was free at join, part of a join us promotion, and CO-Leader requirement was donations of 200 or more troops and donate more than you receive. This was a good plan which leads to more donations but due to the low number requirement also lead to problems down the road when we had a few trolls get promoted to CO-Leader.

The bad CO-leaders  started kicking out all the elders until our clan dropped from 50 members down to 20 Co-Leaders. It began when one CO-Leader promoted his friend without any donations and that guy promoted another that was a jerk intent on sabotaging the clan. As only Co-Leader I could do nothing to stop it. I watched helplessly from the sidelines as he kicked member after member out of the clan. The Guy was like a mass shooter Kicking everyone out before kicking himself out as well. I did my best to re-invite everyone as quickly as I could about 14 of the 30 he kicked out came back and I explained what happened. I pleaded with our leader Raunak to raise the CO-Leader Minimum donation to 500 or 600 so that at least they would have more invested into the clan before they could become members, or to simply chose a few trusted members to help run the clan. I also suggested that they also needed to be active in the wars and put in both attacks each time. But the old rules were already embedded in our members habits and no new hard rules were ever passed so the sabotage happened again taking the clan down to 15 Co-Leaders, we rebuilt quickly but then it happened again a few weeks later. Our leader at the time was busy with exams and so was not on often enough to control clan members that were behaving badly at the time. That's when I decided I needed to create my own clan so I could try and control issues like that. So late night August 29th or Early Morning August 30th I left and Started the SHAOLIN clan.

Want to learn actual Shaolin Kung Fu? go to www.goshaolin.com or www.shao-lin.com to start your training

I started inviting everyone on global chat and invited only one member of my old clan to become my CO-Leader I planned on only having him and maybe just a few other new members that proved themselves worthy as COs to keep things more manageable. However I left my previous clan Ghosts at a time right after a bad sabotage so we were down to only 15 or 20 members. Probably because of this and because I was always one of the biggest donators in the clan one by one our old clan members wondered where we went and started joining. And with new invites to join in general chat we were at 45 members overnight. I made all my old clanmates co leaders since I already had established trust with them. One of my Co's started our first war prematurely before everyone in clan was eligible so our first war had only half our members in it. The former leader of my old clan also joined, originally to try and sway back a few of his old clan members, but they felt the same pain I did with all the sabotages that happened and so when they stayed so did he. He is now a CO-Leader in my new clan. I felt really bad about having to leave and even worse that everyone followed me, I was not expecting that, but it was a step that had to be taken and I was glad to have them all aboard.

Just when we thought the clan finally stabilized at 45 members I ended up promoting a jerk that that begged to be CO and promised to be a fair and trustworthy co but then immediately started kicking people for no reason, I happened to be online and stopped it at 5 members by demoting him, talking to him and kicking him out. Had he waited til I was gone it would have been bad. I invited back all the good active players. Then a few weeks later one of my Cos promoted someone to CO while I was asleep, that lead to a massive 30 person kick that left our clan crippled with only my 15 Co Leaders left in the clan. I quickly invited back as many as I could, using the CLAN WAR logs as a roster of former players and Invited back the ones that put in their attacks in the war and that generally were active and generous players. We gained a few back but some already had found new homes in other clans. I guess that kind of trouble is hard to hold back, you just have to be on almost 24 hrs a day. I check the clan throughout the day while I work since I work from home on my computer designing flyer designs, logos and graphics. But I can't be on all the time especially when I have to go DJ or am at Kung Fu.

Because of the new clan and a few sabotages we lost a few wars but finally have turned around our losing streak with..,. wait for it ha, ha A DRAW... in my best Russian chess player voice "Is DRAW?" Our clan is now growing again with good active members and we will soon be winning wars like our old clan often did.

If you are a mature, active player that enjoys attacking in wars we go to war all the time. One war ends, the next one usually starts right after. Join The SHAOLIN, and as Lord Vader would say... "and together we can rule the galaxy"

Also be patient, we donate when we can but we have to be online and have trained troops before we can do that.

DJ Emir's Clash of Clans Base
Above is my current base as of September 20th, My previous base was a little uglier but had a really good defense rate and no one had 3 Starred my Base in weeks thanks to a middle section divider wall and a small wall enclosure around my town hall with Inferno towers and Cross Bows on both sides of the divide. The highest for weeks was 75% and most only barely made 1 star with either the town hall or 52% So while people in General chat would think my base was crap because of its deceptively seeming haphazard unorganized look it actually had good triangulation and a 3 tiered wall system in place that was effective. I thought I had a picture of it but cannot find it anywhere. If I find it I'll post it so you can have a good laugh, and then start looking closer at it's hidden value LOL
